Lestat Horror

News and Reviews from Indie horror

Week of Horror Day 7 – Charles Chudabala

Charles is another firm favourite of Lestat Horror, we have reviewed not only some of his own horror shorts, but, also some amazing horror shorts he has been in. Lets see what his choices were below:

My favorite horror movie is: “MISERY” which I write about in the new book MY FAVORITE
HORROR MOVIE: SCREAM WARRIORS.   (The link to his book is at the bottom of this article)

However, When I think of the scariest movie ever, there is one that instantly comes to mind.“The Descent” (2005) Brief synopsis: A caving expedition goes horribly wrong, as the explorers become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators.

Spelunking (cave expeditions) has claimed the lives of over 1300 people in the united states. The idea, that much of this film could actually take place, is the horror for me. Not to mention, tight spaces, claustrophobia, and humanoid like creatures that reveal themselves in the shadows, or by firelight.

A scary element, which is the unknown- having no idea what is actually below us in the cave systems, allows the mind to create possible fears that cannot be debunked. For anything is possible until disproven.

I would be terrified to be stuck in a caverwith no way out. Tunnel vision plays tricks and suddenly you are more lost, and further from light, than you ever imagined. The Descent, for me, has the ability to elicit a real “descent” for
the viewing audience. Watch at your own risk.
