Written by Andrew JD Robinson.
Synopsis: The Madisons’ desperate search for their missing daughter crosses over into otherworldly horrors that remind us if it can happen here it can happen anywhere.
We have reviewed quite a few of Robinson’s Horror shorts on here, and now I have the pleasure of reviewing Robinson’s novella ‘We are the missing’
You would think, coming from Robinson that this would be in the Horror Genre, it is in a way, but not in the way you would expect horror to be. The horror in this novella lies with our deepest fears of everyday life, it’s those fears that we see on the news, and, don’t we always think ‘It would never happen to us’
The Madison’s are desperately searching for their daughter who has gone missing. Has she run away?, been kidnapped?…or has something far more sinister happened to her?
The book is written like an interview transcript, sometimes that can be a boring concept for many readers, yet this actually works for this theme. It makes the story more sinister and creepy. If you love paranormal in your books then this is for you, though the very thought of what happens in the book, happening in real life will disturb your mind.
It’s very hard to find original ideas in this type of genre. I have never read anything like this before, and, it feels like it comes from a complex mind that really opens up to the possibilities of the unknown
I normally have to read a book/novella a few times to get to know each character and feel the plot more. I have read this one once…. Once was all it needed for it to be burnt into my memory and make me question everything i know about the world
A great novella from Robinson, Looking forward to seeing more from his written work in the future.
